We are beginning our in-depth unit relating to Physics.  These concepts are vital for their Physical Science Class next year.   This unit focuses on understanding and applying concepts rather than just recalling terminology.  We will be completing more labs than usual for students to utilize and visually see the concepts that we are learning.  Remember that appropriate behavior is required to participate in the lab activities.  Written assignments will be substituted for students that cannot behavior appropriately during labs.

Due to our school delays and testing, I have changed the extra credit project due date to March 20th instead of March 16th. Thanks!!

Our 3rd nine weeks is nearing the end.  The students will be given the opportunity to complete an extra credit project.  It will be assigned on Tuesday March 3rd and will be due on Monday March 16th.  I have attached the assignment to this blog. 

Students will be receiving a Chapter 9 Study Guide on Monday Feb. 9th.  We will review Tuesday and Wednesday.  The Chapter 9 Test will be on Friday Feb. 13th.

Students will be identifying fossil types and learning how they are relevant in the origination of the geologic time line.  In addition, we will discuss ways that species have adapted and/or become extinct in Earth's history. 

An outside lab will be conducted that will demonstrate the natural selection process.  The students will be responsible for collecting data, analyzing and organizing the data, and portraying the results by graphing individual and class information. 

Students will be finishing their last two labs, Mineral Identification and Crystal Growing, on Tuesday January 13th.  

There will be a Chapter 2 Test on Thursday January 15th.  This will be the last grade for the 2nd Nine Weeks.
