Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Lisa Spangler, Coordinator of Special Projects and Grant Writer, and Chad Carper, Director of Student Services, York School District One stands out as the sole local school district to be awarded with the Stronger Connection Grant. This substantial grant, totaling $175,000.00, will be instrumental in facilitating the appointment of two additional mental healthย therapists.

Due to the potential of high winds that would prevent school buses from safely transporting students to and from school, YSD1 will utilize a ๐-๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ฌ, ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ. Additionally, all after school activities and athletic events are canceled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Teachers will work to provide students with e-learning assignments via Canvas and communicate with parents via Remind and/or email. Thank you for your continued support of York School District One. On Saturday, October 7th, 2023 twenty-six Floyd D Johnson Technology Center HOSA members attended NAMI Walks at Cherry Park in Rock Hill. Students were asked to lead the walk and to cheer on the competitors as they came across the finish line. Students definitely brought the energy and were featured in the national NAMIWalks Newsday.

York School District One along with our neighbors in Clover School District are presenting a Transition Fair on October 24th, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Clover District Resource Center. Students who receive special education services in either district and their families are invited to attend. Attendees will recieve information about local services and opportunities available in our area. The Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Maxabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation, and many more organizations will be in attendance to answer questions, provide resources, and enroll students in necessary services. Additionally, student groups will have merchandise available for purchase.
