Important March 24 Update

  • On Tuesday, March 24, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order extending the closure of all South Carolina Schools through the end of April, in response to the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

York School District One has been preparing for this possibility, and we want to reassure you: we remain committed to providing essential services for our students, even during these difficult times.  We intend to continue student meal service.

We know this news will create many questions and challenges for our students, staff, and families, and we’ll be sharing more information in the coming days.

  • The South Carolina Governor announced the closure of all South Carolina schools beginning Monday, March 16 through the end of the month, with the possibility of extending the closure for a longer period due to concerns about COVID-19. In accordance with this order York School District One closed beginning Monday, March 16.  This includes the cancellation of all after-school activities, sports, and programs.

The strength of our school district is our community. We recognize that this situation may be unsettling. We have been working to prepare for this scenario so that student learning and meal service can continue in an alternative format.

This site will provide resources to our school community during the school closure.
