The following update was sent via voice call, email, SMS text, district app notification, and social media to all district parents on November 20, 2020:
COVID-19 cases are currently increasing in York County. The two-week percent positive is higher than it has been since we opened school in August.
Being mindful of our goal to keep students in school as much as possible and to try to prevent a return to our original Hybrid model, effective November 30, 2020, we will be pivoting our students in grades PreK - 6 to a Modified Hybrid. Students will attend school 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Wednesdays will transition back to SEE days for extra time and extra help.
There will be no changes to the instructional model in grades 7 - 12 at this time.
Please visit our district website for an important message to the YSD1 Community from Superintendent Kelly Coxe, as well as a video message with details about this change to a Modified Hybrid model in grades preK - 6.
Thank you, stay safe, and have a good weekend.
