The following update was sent via email and SMS text to all district parents on October 5, 2020:
As we pass the midpoint of our first nine weeks of school, I would like to provide an update on district operations in light of COVID-19.
We are pleased to report that, to date, virus activity has remained low here within the district. County data has been trending downward as well. Thank you to our students and staff for their diligence in adhering to our safety protocols!
Our Response Team would like to gather your feedback on the possibility of increasing the number of days students would report to class for face-to-face instruction. Please watch the video linked below and take our survey at www.york.k12.sc.us/octsurvey. The survey will remain open through October 9th. At that time, this data and the feedback from our Response Team will be reviewed. A final decision about Phase Two of school operations will be communicated by October 13.
Thank you for your support and cooperation. I am immensely proud of our York One family. As a community, you have pulled together and supported the district in our efforts to prioritize safety and well-being while simultaneously working to ensure rigorous instructional opportunities.
Thank you for providing your feedback as we consider changes to school operations.
