The following update was sent via email, SMS text, and app notification to all district parents on July 1, 2020:
We would like to provide an update on the planning process for the 2020-2021 school year. Superintendent Kelly Coxe provides this update via a video, available on our district website, YouTube, or Facebook. We encourage you to take about 6 minutes to watch the video.
York School District One parents are also asked to complete an important survey about your thoughts about returning to school in the fall of 2020-2021, including questions about the new York School District One Virtual Academy, transportation needs, and the ability to attend school a week early.
Parents should visit www.york.k12.sc.us/survey to complete this very important survey. Please submit it once for each child in your household. Should you have additional questions or comments, please email them to info@york.k12.sc.us and we will work to address them in our formal announcements in a few weeks.
We expect to release a detailed plan for the start of school in mid-July, but this survey will help further inform our planning.
Thank you in advance for your time and patience as we work to protect the health, safety, and wellness of students and staff while giving students the best possible learning experience which is as close to normal as health and safety allow.
Tim Cooper
Public Information Officer
