The following update was shared via website update and email to all district parents and staff on June 2, 2021:
Dear York School District One Parents/Guardians,
York School District One has recently released our 2021 – 2026 Strategic Change Agenda. This framework will be used to foster the design and development of a support system that builds capacity, advances learning outcomes, and creates a shared understanding aligned to the district’s mission, vision, beliefs, and board priorities. As a result, we have identified three key areas of focus:
- Developing a Shared Understanding of the Need for Change;
- Developing a Focus on Students and on the Quality of Work Provided to Students; and
- Fostering Innovation and Flexibility.
Here in York One, EVERY parent/guardian, school staff member, and community stakeholder voice is valued. It is critical we have a clear understanding of your perception of our progress toward our pursuit of excellence. Therefore, I am reaching out to you today to request your feedback on how we have performed this year, to give you an opportunity to provide feedback on potential operational plans for next school year, and to allow you to offer input on the use of our federal relief funds.
This survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Please know that your answers will be treated in a confidential manner. Since data will be viewed in a collective level only, reports will not identify individuals. No one in the district will know you have participated unless you identify yourself in the space for open-ended comments.
After the survey closes, we will report the findings publicly and share what we have learned. Engaging in an ongoing dialogue is critical as we work together to provide our students with the best possible education.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Kelly Coxe
Superintendent
York School District One
