My name is Mrs. Rebecca Blanks-Ratliff and I was born and raised in York and graduated from York Comprehensive High School. I received my undergraduate from Anderson College in Elementary and Early Childhood and my Special Education-Learning Disability as a visiting graduate student at University of the Cumberlands. I have also attended Clemson University to take graduate classes in Early Childhood Literacy and Winthrop University to take graduate classes in Gifted and Talented Education.
I live in York with my husband, Shawn, and my daughter, Cailee Grace, a 2022 graduate of YCHS. We also have two dogs, Shelby and Tessa. I enjoy reading and I am a huge Clemson Tigers fan!

Mrs. Nicole Campbell - Speech
My name is Nicole Campbell, and I am a recent graduate of Brescia University where I received my masters in Speech Language Pathology. I am super excited to start my speech career with HCJ! Before joining YSD1, I worked in the medical field as a secretary and have worked children and adults who have special needs.
I live in Rock Hill, SC with my husband and son and enjoy spending time with my family,
relaxing, reading, and dreaming about being on the beach. I have recently caught the travel bug and I look forward to exciting adventures to come!

This is my first year at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. Prior to working for York School District I worked for the state of South Carolina Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services. I also serve as the Children/Youth Ministry Director for First Baptist York. I am married to my wonderful husband, Leslie Dover. Our son, Christopher, is married and lives in Georgia. He and his wife, Anna are expecting our first grandchild in March, 2019. We currently have one granddog, Rusty.
My passion is working with children and youth. I love viewing the world through the eyes of a child. Everything is new and exciting! One of my favorite quotes: People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling with my husband, visiting our son in Georgia, exercising, running 5-K’s for charity events, and participating with my youth and children at First Baptist in missions.

Mrs. Sarah Hrabovsky
My name is Sarah M. Hrabovsky. I am the mental health therapist at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. I have my Master of Education, Counselor Education degree from Clemson University. I gradated in August 2004. I have been a therapist for about 20 years now. I earned my B.A. degree in Psychology from Eastern Washington University in June 2000. I have had many job titles as a therapist including school-based counselor, QMHP, TBI specialist, mental health vocational counselor, supported education counselor, and program manager/counselor for a women’s federal prison program. I really enjoy being a therapist and helping people in the community.
I have lived in the south for about 13.5 years total (Georgia and SC). I love the Clemson Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, EWU Eagles, and the Seattle Seahawks. I also enjoy backpacking, camping, hiking, fishing, watching sports, and playing sports, and spending time with my friends and family. I am originally from Kalama, Washington which is approximately 2,785 miles from York, SC. My husband, 2 sons, and I moved from Portland, Oregon to Fort Mill, SC. in the summer of 2015. I am a soccer, boy scout, and basketball mom. I spend a lot of time with my boys at the sports fields and arenas. I love to travel the world. I have been to numerous countries and 48 US states. My name is Becky Martin and I am a Reading Interventionist. I graduated from Winthrop University and I am Nationally Board Certified, GT endorsed, and have a Master's Degree in Reading.
My husband and I live in Clover and have two precious children. We also have three dogs who are part of our family. We enjoy traveling to the beach and the mountains. My hobbies are shopping and decorating. I also love to dive in to a good book and watch movies. I'm thrilled to be a part of our HCJ family!

My name is Kevin Newman and I am the ESOL teacher at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. Each year I get to work with wonderful students that learn so much and grow in their reading and writing. It is amazing to see such growth and a desire to learn and succeed.
My family and I live in York County. My wife is a teacher as well. We have two children that are the joy in our lives. As a family, we enjoy learning new things about the world, creating art, and enjoying life!

Mrs. Leesa Parker
I teach Merit to the 3rd and 4th grade students at Harold C Johnson and Hunter Street. I also am lucky enough to visit 2nd grade students each week for a program called Brain Boosters.
I am originally from Ohio and am both a Buckeye Fan and a Clemson Tiger fan. I have two sons, one graduated from Clemson and Texas A&M and the other is currently enrolled at Clemson. My hustand and I live in Lake Wylie with our dog Tipper and five cats.
In my free time I like to visit and camp at state parks, learn new technology for the classroom and hang out with our cats.

I graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 2004. In 2015, I graduated from Belmont Abbey College and received my Bachelors of Art Degree in Educational Studies. I obtained a Masters in Special Education w/ Emphasis in ABA. from Webster University in 2020.

Ms. Rebecca Samuelson
My name is Becky Samuelson and I am an Academic Support teacher here at Harold C. Johnson Elementary. I love helping children get better at reading, Math, and Writing skills. I am originally from Gowanda, NY, where I started my teaching career in Special Education. I moved to the south 6 years ago, to escape the snow, and to teach in east Tennessee. Previously, I have taught in Gaston County, Lancaster County and now am very honored to be teaching here in York County. I love making students feel good about themselves and their academic abilities.
I have two grown children. I live in south Gastonia with my daughter and our three cats. I have a son who lives in my hometown in western New York, where I also have two brothers. My two sisters live in Massachusetts. Family is important to me!

My name is Charlotte Shannon and I was born and raised in Chester, South Carolina. I am so excited to serve as the Reading Recovery Teacher at Harold C. Johnson. Prior to moving into this position, I was a second grade teacher in Chester School District for fourteen years, third grade teacher at Cotton Belt for two years as well as second grade for two years. I came to Harold C. Johnson when it reopened in 2011 as a first grade teacher.
My husband, Adam, and I have a daughter, Carlee, and a son, Ashton. Both of my children are graduates of York Comprehensive High School.
During my free time, I love to read, shop, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Maxi Shiflet
I serve Harold C Johnson as the Behavior Interventionist. I am very excited to support the students and staff in this capacity. As an educator, I have a genuine interest in supporting students' behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
I attended the College of Charleston and received my BS in Psychology. I began my career in education at Harold C Johnson in 2011, as an ABT. Following that position, I taught as a Special Education teacher. I was thrilled to return to HCJ as a Kindergarten assistant. I truly enjoy my career as the Behavioral Interventionist at Harold C Johnson, it is truly an incredible school.
My husband, John Mark, and I have two amazing children. They keep us busy and entertained. In my spare time, I love gardening, decorating, and spending time with my family and friends.

Dr. Windy Sizemore
I am the Literacy Coach at Harold C. Johnson. I love being able to work with many different children, classes, and teachers in this role. I previously taught 3rd grade for 10 years and 2nd grade for 9 years.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, and grandchildren. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs at home that keep us very entertained. In my free time I enjoy taking long walks, relaxing on the beach, reading great books, taking photos of people, and making crafts. Some interesting things about me are: I have lived in 4 different states and before I became a teacher I groomed dogs!
