Jennifer Maurer

Hi! I am Jennifer Maurer and this will be my 6th year at Hunter Street Elementary but entering my 18th year of education. I am from Gastonia, NC and live in Clover, SC. I have taught in Gaston County Schools.  I am a graduate of Appalachian State University in elementary education. I love spending time with family and shopping! I have 2 kids and 2 dogs. I spend most of my weekends traveling for sports. I enjoy being a HUSKY!

Jamie O'Neill

Mrs. O'Neill is a Rock Hill native, but proud graduate of York Comprehensive High.  She holds degrees in education from Clemson University and Columbia College. She teaches 4th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies and loves it! She is married to Kevin O'Neill, and has two sons, Noah and Landon. When she's not working, she enjoys watching Noah play as goal keeper for York High School soccer, and cheers on Landon pitching and catching for his baseball team. Her entire household cheers on the Tigers on the weekend of course! Some of her hobbies are singing, baking, and fishing!

Karen Parker

I am Mrs. Karen Parker. I was born in Wurzburg, Germany. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University and recently finished my Master’s Degree in Education, Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. I am also certified in special education.

I have taught 34 years in SC Public Schools, with the last 15 years in York School District One at YOA, YIS, and York One Virtual Academy.

I am married to my loving husband, Peter Parker and have 3 wonderful children who have all finished their education.

I enjoy reading, gardening, family trips, and having fun with our 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bunny.

Shari Root

Ms. Root grew up near Chicago, IL, met her husband of 46 years in southern CA when he was in the Navy, moved to his home state of NY when he was discharged, and then to SC 30 years ago. They raised eight children and currently have 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. They also worked together for over 25 years as youth leaders and children church pastors. This is Ms. Root’s eighth year teaching fourth-grade at HSES. Before staying home to raise a family she taught in NY, starting in 1988, as well. She has several hobbies; such as reading, playing the piano, going for walks in the country, and traveling to various states and countries. Just for fun, she wears a variety of wigs 😊 It keeps daily life interesting!
