My name is Becky Auten. I am the Secretary and Power School Clerk at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. I graduated from South Pointe High School in 2009. I have been employed here since the Spring of 2021. I live in Sharon with my husband Matthew Auten and my son Charlie. When I am not at school, I love spending time with family, shopping for antiques, watching documentaries and traveling.

I handle Behavioral Intervention here at Harold C Johnson Elementary. I have been employed here since the Fall of 2015 and I absolutely LOVE IT!! I graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 1998 and attended the University of South Carolina-Upstate. I am married to Travis, a South Carolina State Trooper, of 12 years and we have two children, Emma and Owen. When I am not I school, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping with the best mom ever, going to Carowinds, watching Clemson football and loving on my fur babies.

I am the school nurse for Harold C Johnson Elementary School. I am married to Mark Nichols and we have two wonderful children, Nolin and Lyla.   We live in York and both my husband and I are York School District students from K-12th.

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and started at HCJ when it opened in 2011.  I have worked in the hospital for 11 years in the maternity unit and NICU.   I am passionate about caring for children and helping them be the best they can be.  I love nurturing and sharing with the children about being healthy and taking care of themselves.   My children always amaze me, from what they say to what do,  it’s always an adventure being part of their world.   Dr. Suess said it best.  “A person’s a person no matter how  small.”

I am so excited to be the school counselor at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School!   Prior to joining the staff I served as a high school counselor in both Tennessee and South Carolina.  I am from a very small town called New Egypt in New Jersey, but I am definitely a southern girl at heart.  I decided to move to South Carolina for college in search of warmer weather.  I received my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University in 2011 majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in youth issues, early intervention, and sociology.  I then went on to receive my Master of Education in school counseling and development from Winthrop University in 2013. 

When I am not at school I love spending time with family in both South Carolina and New Jersey, especially my husband Jack, and my children Jax and Reagan.

I am the Bookkeeper at Harold C Johnson Elementary.  I have been employed with YSD1 since 2017 and at HCJ since 2021 and love being at the school level. I am married to Adam and we have three amazing children, Grayson, Mary Grace, and William. We live in McConnells, SC and as a family we enjoy camping, cheering for the Carolina Gamecocks, and going to the beach.
