4 Year-Old Kindergarten (4K)

  • York School District 1 participates in the South Carolina Child Early Reading and Development Education Program (CERDEP). CERDEP offers a full day Pre-Kindergarten program for any student residing in our district provided the student qualifies for the program.

    To be eligible for CERDEP, students must:

    • Be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the current school year
    • Have a documented family income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty definition promulgated annually by the US Department of Health and Human Services

    Documentation of such can be provided by:

    • Submitting current Medicaid eligibility card
    • Submitting a YSD1 Income Verification form, along with a month’s worth of paystubs (links to forms below)

    Space in our CERDEP 4K program is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis of complete and qualified enrollment applications. Students register for the 4K program through the online Registration Gateway as a new student.
