Employee Recognition

As we strive to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our exceptional staff, YSD1 has established two awards to recognize individuals or groups of individuals that demonstrate exemplary dedication, innovation, and exceptional performance throughout the year.  This is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and commitment to excellence that many of our employees have consistently demonstrated.

The Legacy Builders Award

The recipients of this award demonstrate an impact on others through personal and/or professional purpose driven work.  They not only build pathways that create opportunity for others, but their impact on YSD1 will be demonstrated for years to come.

They are change agents who dare to make a difference.  The Legacy Builders award honors a significant individual’s work that compliments the York ONE mission to learn, serve and give as ONE.  Legacy Builders serve as consistent models of the beliefs and commitments of the district.  These individuals are not only leaders within their schools or departments but also invested in the community. They conduct themselves in a way that we have classified as "The York Way."  This is a distinguished award that promotes the climate and culture that you are trying to establish within our schools and district.  These individuals should be exemplars for others demonstrating outstanding work ethic, professionalism, attitude, drive, community service.

Recommendation Process: Anyone can recommend an individual or group of individuals for the Legacy Builder Award. However, the nomination must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the intended recipient's Principal or Department Head.

2023-2022 Multipliers Award

Recipients are individuals or groups of individuals that demonstrate exemplary dedication, innovation, and exceptional performance throughout the school year.

Time Frame: Awarded once a month at board meetings

Description of Award: Multipliers offer the absolute best of their thinking, creativity, and ideas. They give more than their job requires and volunteer their discretionary effort, energy, and resourcefulness. They find personal satisfaction in coming to the aid of the organization.  Multipliers see a need and work to fill the need, without concern regarding their position or title.  They actively search for more valuable ways to contribute and hold themselves to the highest standards.  Multipliers are genius makers. They amplify the intelligence in others by recognizing the unique talents of each individual and providing opportunities for others to share their talent.  Multipliers build collective intelligence and capacity at every level of the organization.  Multipliers offer thoughtful input focused on solutions rather than simply naming problems.

Recommendation Process: Principals, Assistant Principals, and Executive Staff Members are eligible to nominate individuals for the Multiplier Award.

Selection Process: Nominees will be reviewed by a multiplier review committee and nominees will be recognized at the next month's board meeting
