Dr. Heath Branham

Hello York School District One!

One year ago, I shared my excitement about joining the York School District One family. I spoke about becoming Connected as ONE and the importance of ensuring every student, every employee, and every family knows they belong.

Today, that belief is stronger than ever.

Over the past year, I have witnessed extraordinary things across our district. I have seen teachers who refuse to give up on a child. Principals who lead with courage and compassion. Staff members who quietly serve behind the scenes, making sure our schools are safe, welcoming, and ready each day. Families who trust us with what matters most. Community partners who continue to invest in the future of York.

What I've learned is simple. The greatest strength of York School District One isn't found in our buildings, our programs, or our accomplishments. It's found in WE. WE believe every child deserves to be seen. WE ensure every voice is heard. WE create places where every person belongs. Those aren't simply words. They are commitments. They shape how we teach, how we lead, how we serve, and how we care for one another.

Every decision we make should answer one question:

Does this make us better for kids?

When we begin there, remarkable things happen. Students achieve more. Relationships grow stronger. Challenges become opportunities. Individual successes become collective victories.

The future of York School District One has never been brighter. New opportunities are emerging across our district. New schools are taking shape. Innovative programs are expanding. Partnerships are growing. Yet our greatest investment will never be found in bricks and mortar.

It will always be found in people.
