Intro Message (Jan 2019)
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you back! It’s hard to believe that we are now at the midpoint of our school year.
As we prepare for our students to return and second semester to begin, I want you to know that I am honored to serve you, as well as the entire York Community, as your next Superintendent of Schools. My family and I relocated to York in the summer of 2015 when I was named Principal of Harold C. Johnson Elementary. Since that time, I have learned firsthand the strength of this school district lies within its stakeholders. Collectively, the students, teachers, staff, administrators, families, community members and businesses ARE York One. Having served in other school districts, both inside and outside of South Carolina, the sense of community and pride found within this school system is unparalleled.
I look forward to working with each of you as we continue to develop a progressive learning environment designed to ensure all students graduate our system college, career, and citizenship ready. It is my unyielding belief that a healthy system supports the growth of all students in the pursuit of their life goals, ensuring opportunities and experiences that prepare them for life after graduation.
Over the coming months I look forward to listening to you as you articulate your strengths, needs, and challenges; learning from you as you demonstrate your successes and hurdles; and sharing with you how I believe we can collaboratively work together to make York One the best district in the state!
