Ms. Jessica Chapman

My name is Jessica Chapman. I am originally from Charleston, West Virginia. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at West Virginia State University in 2005 and graduated with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Winthrop University in 2011.

In 2006, I began my teaching career in Gaston County, NC where I taught for 11 years. In 2017, I moved and began teaching 4th grade here at Harold C. Johnson Elementary! The 2018-2019 school year will be my 13th year in education.

I currently live in Clover, SC with my cat, Mookins. My passion is teaching, being in the classroom, and continuing to grow as an educator to inspire and motivate my students! I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching football, traveling (especially to the mountains or the beach!), music, crafting, hiking, and trying new things!

Mrs. Krystle Mizwa

My name is Krystle Mizwa. I am originally from York, South Carolina and graduated from York Comprehensive High School. GO COUGARS! I received my bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from The University of South Carolina, in 2005. I also received my Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, in 2006.

In 2006, I began my teaching career in Chester, South Carolina, where I taught 5th grade. After teaching in Chester for 7 years, I came home to York to begin teaching fourth grade, here at Harold C. Johnson Elementary. The 2018-2019 school year will be my 13th year in education.

I currently live in York, SC with my husband Chris, my son Bradyn, my daughter Addisyn, my cat Chloe, and my dog Bryleigh. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I also love to attend USC football games during the fall. GO GAMECOCKS! I enjoy learning new things and sharing those with my students

Mrs. Amy Quinn

I am Amy Stewart Quinn and this is my seventeenth year of teaching. As a high school graduate of York School District One, I take great pride in teaching in this district. After graduation from YCHS, I attended Converse College in Spartanburg, SC and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade here in York School District One and I am currently teaching fourth grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science here at HCJES. I have three beautiful girls who attend York schools and keep me very busy! Singing, watching softball, and spending time with my family are things you may find me doing in my spare time. My dream is to inspire students to always reach for the stars. Walt Disney states, “If you can dream it, you can do it. All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” It is my goal to not only teach curriculum but to also teach students how to “dream big!”

Ms. Sabrina Simms

My name is Sabrina Simms. I am from London, England. Prior to this position, I taught 5th grade science at Achievement Prep in Washington D.C., and then 4th grade at Peters Elementary in South Florida. This 2018-2019 school year will be my 6th year in teaching!

I received an undergraduate degree in 2009 from University of Florida, majoring in Anthropology — Go Gators!! In 2011, I obtained my Master’s degree in Public Health, with a focus on Health Promotion and Education from George Washington University. I facilitated health education workshops with middle and high-school students in after-school programs, before moving onto an elementary teaching career. In 2013, I graduated from the Today’s New Teachers Program with a certification in Elementary Education K-6, and then Exceptional Student Education. 

During my free time, I enjoy crafting and going on nature walks. I also love attending live music shows, cooking meals from different cuisines, and spending time with my family and our two Shih-Tzu puppies, BeeBee and Cadbury.
