Mrs. Susan Ballard

My name is Susan Lee Ballard and have taught Art in York School District One for thirty years. I presently teach Art at Harold C Johnson and Cotton Belt Elementary Schools. I am married to Dain Ballard and have two children, Daley and Mattie. My family enjoys traveling. My hobbies include painting, camping and playing golf. I attended Erskine College for one year then transferred to Columbia College and received a BA in Art Education. I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. I am also National Board Certified.

Mrs. Libby Childers

My name is Libby Childers and I am a product of York School District One. I have lived in York all of my life and started teaching in York in 1989 after I graduated from Winthrop College. I began my career teaching 4th grade and worked on my Master’s Degree from Winthrop University and then moved in to the library media center. I have been at Hunter Street Elementary and Harold C. Johnson Elementary for a total of 29 years. I have 3 spectacular grown children and a wonderful husband. I love reading and spending time with my family. I believe we should never stop learning and always strive to be better.

My name is Sam Harper and am a product of York School District One.  I graduated with a degree in Sociology in 2007 from Coastal Carolina University.  I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Physical Education from Winthrop University in 2010.  I started my teaching career at Clover Middle School.  I also coached football, basketball, and track.  I really look forward to teaching Physical Education at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School.  I look forward to doing a great job and building my students love of movement. I love spending time with my family.

Ms. Bobbie Huntsinger

My name is Bobbie Huntsinger and currently I teach general music for grades pre-K through 4th grade in York District One. I spend ½ the school year at Cotton Belt Elementary and then the other ½ at Harold C. Johnson Elementary. I have been teaching elementary music about 9 years now in both NC and SC but I also taught as a regular elementary classroom (second and fifth grade) teacher for 5 years, mostly in Blacksburg, SC. I graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 1991 with a B.A. in Music Education and from Converse College in 2001 with an M.A. in Elementary Education. I finished an additional 30 hours above my masters through College of Charleston.

I currently live in Shelby, NC but really love teaching here in York, South Carolina. I was raised not far away in Shelby, NC but I have also lived in Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX and Lakeside, MT. I have two boys, Nate age 11 and Gabe age 15. They keep my life interesting. In addition to music, I love gardening, reading mostly fiction, and cats. I am also active in my home church where I play the piano. I was a stateside missionary for 12 years and I have done a lot of traveling – I’ve been to 49 of our 50 states and 19 different countries. I also recorded two of my own albums. Different cultures fascinate me and I love bringing instruments and songs from around the world into my classroom.

Mrs. Chimeeka Williams

My name is Chimeeka Williams. This is my second year at HCJ but this is my first year as the Computer Lab Teacher.  I am originally from Clover, SC and I graduated from Clover High School. I attended Charleston Southern University and received my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Management.  I worked in the business field for a few short years before I found my true passion, which is children.  I have over 11 years of experience working with children.  I have been an After School Coordinator, Preschool Assistant, Substitute Teacher, and a Special Education Assistant.  I current live in Clover with my husband, Fred, our daughter Kaliyah and our son Kendrick. During my free time I enjoying reading, shopping, cooking, and spending time with my family.
