Joey Costa
Academic Support 1
I’m a born and raised Jersey girl and moved to South Carolina back in 2014. I attended the College of Charleston majoring in special education while minoring in writing. While in college, I volunteered for an aquatics and motor therapy program called FitCatz for 3 years where I was a clinician and then moved to a group leader. I also got to facilitate a freshmen seminar my senior year! I did my final internship at James B Edwards Elementary in Mount Pleasant, SC. I graduated in 2019 and have been at Hunter Street since. I am always dancing, singing, and spreading my energy everywhere I go. My favorite book is How the Grinch Stole Christmas and I love to eat onion dip. I genuinely look forward to seeing what the future holds!

Preschool Support
My name is Catherine Adkins and I teach Preschool Support. I was born and raised in York and am excited that I have the opportunity to teach in my hometown. I have a Bachelor of Science in Special Education with a concentration in Mental/Severe Disabilities from Winthrop University and a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. This is my second-year teaching, but my fifth year in the district. Prior to teaching I worked as an assistant in the district’s Applied Behavior Therapy Program. Teaching has always been my first choice of a career. I love working with preschool age students and watching how much they grow and develop; socially, academically, and in their personality. I love to laugh, have fun, and take every opportunity to just “be.” Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
