Mrs. Heather Montgomery, Assistant Principal

It is an honor and privilege to be the assistant principal of Cotton Belt Elementary School. I began my career in education in 2000 after graduating from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. As a York native, I wanted to give back to my community and educational system that helped shaped me. I taught for 14 years at Hickory Grove-Sharon Elementary in various grade levels ranging from second, fourth and sixth as well as special education.  While teaching, I earned a Master’s degree from Columbia College in Divergent Learning and another Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. I became the assistant principal at Jefferson Elementary in 2014, before moving to Cotton Belt in 2021.

My husband, Kevin and I live in McConnells with our son Larson and our oldest son, Jackson who attends Western Carolina University.   I enjoy watching baseball, spending time with my family,  and traveling. My heart is for students and I will always put them first.  I love my job!
