Summer Activities at York County Library

The York County Library is still offering services. They are having a Summer Learning Challenge, which we intended to partner on with them this summer. The Summer Learning Challenge will be June 8 through July 31. Registration is open now. All ages will read 10 hours (up to 50 hours) to earn entries into a Grand Prize Drawing. When school begins, students can also show proof of participation to YMS media specialist, Dr. Clinton, to win prizes for participating.

Reading times can be tracked online via the Beanstack website https://yclibrary.beanstack.org/ or using the reading record available for download. Programming will be held virtually. They have special virtual performances, which can be found on facebook.com/YorkCountyLibrary and youtube.com/York CountyLibrary.

They have digital contents available, which can be accessed here: yclibrary.org/virtual-library. They also  have e-books, movies that can be streamed, virtual magazines and audiobooks available through OverDrive, Hoopla, Flipster and RB Digital. All one needs is a library card to access our virtual library.

For anyone needing a library card, they have made it easier to get library cards. The application for e-cards can be accessed here: yclibrary.org/apply-for-library-card
