YSD1 Board of Trustees Approves 2024-2025 Administrative Appointments

Daphne McNeely Headshot

Mrs. Daphne McNeely will be promoted to the role of Director of Transportation for the 2024-25 school year. McNeely began her career in York School District One in 2005 at Hunter Street Elementary as an Instructional Assistant and later served as an Administrative Assistant to the Curriculum and Instruction Department in 2016.

She currently serves as the Routing Coordinator for the Transportation Department but has held a variety of roles during her 19-year career, including Bookkeeper, Reading Interventionist, and Technology Lab Assistant.

McNeely is a proud graduate of York Comprehensive High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from York Technical College. Mrs. McNeely will officially begin her role as Director of Transportation on July 1, 2024. 

Hannah Rescigno Headshot

Mrs. Hannah Rescigno will be promoted to the role of Principal of York Intermediate School for the 2024-25 school year. Rescigno began her career in York School District One in 2010 as a mathematics teacher at York Middle School. She later transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at York Middle School from 2018 until 2020. In 2020, she transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at Harold C. Johnson Elementary where she currently serves.
Rescigno earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle-Level Education with a focus in Mathematics and English Language Arts and a Master of Science Degree in School Administration from the University of South Carolina and holds the Gifted and Talented Endorsement. Rescigno is a lifelong resident of York, SC, and a proud graduate of York Comprehensive High School. Mrs. Rescigno will begin her official tenure as Principal of York Intermediate School will begin on July 1, 2024. 

Kevin Queen Headshot

Mr. Kevin Queen will transition to the role of Director of Student Services for the 2024-25 school year. Mr. Queen currently serves as the Director of Transportation, a role he has held in York School District One since 2016. Before his tenure as Transportation Director, Mr. Queen served as a teacher and administrator at the high school level in Cleveland County Schools in North Carolina.

Mr. Queen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and a Master of Science Degree in School Administration from Western Carolina University. Mr. Queen will continue his work with Safety and will assume the role of Director of Student Services beginning July 1, 2024.

Rebecca Dover Headshot

Mrs. Rebecca Dover will transition to the role of Principal of York Middle School for the 2024-25 school year. Mrs. Dover began her career in 1999 as a Physical Education Teacher and Coach in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). During her tenure in CMS, Mrs. Dover worked at both the elementary and secondary levels, serving students at Reedy Creek Elementary, Kennedy Middle School, and West Charlotte High School. She went on to become an Assistant Principal in the Lancaster County School District for five years and joined York School District One in 2011 as an Assistant Principal at Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. Dover was named Assistant Principal of Hickory Grove Sharon Elementary in 2013 and has served as the Principal of Hickory Grove Sharon Elementary since 2015.

Dover earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Erskine College, with a minor in Secondary Education. She also holds a Master of Science in School Administration from Gardner Webb University and has earned an Education Specialist Degree from Winthrop University. Mrs. Dover is a proud graduate of York Comprehensive High School and a lifelong resident of Hickory Grove, SC. Mrs. Dover will officially assume her role as Principal of York Middle School on July 1, 2024. 

Keith McSwain Headshot

Mr. Keith McSwain will transition to the role of Principal of Hickory Grove Sharon Elementary for the 2024-25 school year. Mr. McSwain began his career as a Physical Education Teacher at W.C. Friday Middle School in Gaston County, North Carolina in 1993. He joined York School District One in 1998 as a Physical Education Teacher at Harold C. Johnson Middle School and went on to become the Assistant Principal in 2004. Mr. McSwain currently serves as Principal of York Intermediate School and has held the role since 2010.

McSwain earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and earned a Master of Science degree in School Administration in 2003 from Winthrop University. Mr. McSwain is a lifelong resident of York. McSwain will officially assume his role as Principal of Hickory Grove Sharon Elementary on July 1, 2024.
