New Appointments at Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center and York One Academy Announced
On Tuesday, August 14th, at the meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board accepted the administrative recommendations for positions at Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center and York One Academy. Dr. Lee Green will serve as Director of Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center and Ms. Lindsey Lawson will serve as Assistant Principal at York One Academy.
Dr. Lee Green was named Director of Floyd D Johnson Technology Center. Dr. Green returns to York after serving in Chester County School District, most recently as Executive Director of Secondary Instruction since 2015 and Director of Career and Technology Education from 2006 to 2015. While in Chester Dr. Green added multiple career and technology programs and certifications to the career center while developing and maintaining important relationships with the business community.
Dr. Green returns to York where he began his teaching career at Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center, teaching keyboarding, computer technology, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Green also served as assistant principal at Harold C Johnson Middle School and Assistant Director at Floyd D Johnson Technology Center.
Dr. Green received his Bachelor of Science from Clemson University, Master of Art in Teaching from Winthrop, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
Mrs. Lindsey Lawson was named Assistant Principal of York One Academy. Mrs. Lawson has worked at York One Academy since 2011, where she taught mathematics. Mrs. Lawson was selected by her colleagues as Teacher of the Year for York One Academy in 2016 and has coached Volleyball, Softball, and basketball for York Middle School. Prior to coming to York, Ms. Lawson taught mathematics in Coshocton, Ohio, and Lenoir, North Carolina.
Mrs. Lawton earned her Bachelor's in Integrated Mathematics Education from Kent State University and a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. She is currently completing a Master of Education in Education Leadership program at Winthrop University.
