Floyd D Johnson Technology Center Students Donate $1100 to SC Alzheimer's Association
On January 25th, 2019, the Floyd D Johnson Technology Center DECA Club presented a check of $1,100 to the South Carolina Alzheimer's Association, the culmination of a project coordinated by seniors Jordyn Burton and Aisha Ozog. Dori Burton, program director with the South Carolina Alzheimer's Association, was on hand to receive the funds on behalf of the organization.
The donation came as a result of the second-annual DECA 5K Run/Walk, held in the fall. Jordyn Burton and Aisha Ozog organized the 5K Run/Walk as a part of a public relations project with the FDJTC DECA Club. Ms. Burton and Ms. Ozog will use the project success as a part of submissions in multiple state and national competitions.
DECA clubs prepare students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Rob Farris and Gail Harrington are the DECA sponsor at Floyd D Johnson Technology Center.
