Free Internet Hotspots Available for Qualifying Students

We are excited to announce the availability of internet hotspots offered in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Education.  The SC Department of Education is funding free mobile hotspots for the Fall 2020 semester for qualifying students. Only one hotspot per address is allowed, according to Act 142 passed earlier this summer.

The following conditions must be met in order to qualify for a hotspot, according to Act 142:

  1. At least one child in the home is enrolled as a student in York School District One
  2. Home internet service is not currently available in the home (no current service)
  3. Have a household income at or below 250% of federal poverty
  4. Need internet for educational purposes

If you meet all of the conditions above, please complete a form by clicking this link.  When completing the form, you will need to register with your oldest student, but also list other students in your household.

Applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM Noon on Monday, August 3rd in order to be considered.
