Ms. April Aulmer transitions to the role of Director of Elementary Programs and Gifted Education.  Ms. Aulmer has served as the District Instructional Facilitator for York School District One since July 2021.  Prior to joining YSD1, Aulmer served as Principal at Queen City STEM School in Charlotte, North Carolina, a middle school assistant principal in Rock Hill Schools, and mathematics teacher for nearly 15 years.  As a classroom teacher she was twice named Teacher of the Year.

Aulmer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina – Aiken and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University.  She holds elementary and secondary Principal certification in South Carolina and elementary Principal certification in North Carolina and is Project Based Learning endorsed by the South Carolina Department of Education.
